Just like in the case of Jesus and Peter, when Peter was
rebuking the Lord about His talk of how He would pass through sufferings as the
Messiah... " And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer
many things, and be rejected by the elders, and the chief priests, and the
scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again."(Mark 8:31) we should learn to handle the case like Jesus
who called Peter Satan at that instance because he tried to persuade Him out of
the purpose of His coming to earth..." And he spake the saying openly. And
Peter took him, and began to rebuke him."(Mark 8:32)... But he turning
about, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and saith, Get thee behind me,
Satan; for thou mindest not the things of God, but the things of men…”(Mark
8:33). We as followers of Christ should not take lightly the persuasions from
men to abandon our life's purpose all because they feel we don't deserve to
pursue that or may be because they feel they have a better option for us.
Remember, such persuasions of diversion from divine purpose could come from
beloved brethren, little wonder Jesus got His from Peter (the most capable one
to take over from Him as leader of the apostles, per say). So, my dear, write
down the vision for your life as God gave it you, and you know what? Make sure
you stick to it even in the midst of storms of persuasions from more
"visionary" friends who feel they love you more than you love
yourself. You are blessed.
